Fourteen applications to ProEnviro

By the closing application date, 27 September 2007, 14 proposals had been received from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

These applications will be evaluated by a Scientific Council and an Industrial Council. The former is responsible for the scientific assessment, in which originality and innovativeness are key criteria. The Industrial Council is in charge of the strategic and business appraisal, which focuses on improved environmental performance and industrial relevance.

ProEnviro´s Board will take its decisions, on the basis of the two Councils´ assessments, on 13 December.

ProEnviro, which has a total budget of SEK 60 million, is scheduled to run up to and including 2009. The recent call for proposals was the second of the two calls planned.

ProEnviro is an initiative focusing on SMEs´ innovative research ideas concerning development of ecofriendly products and ways of strengthening Sweden´s competitiveness. The intention is for projects to take place in collaboration between industry, on the one hand, and higher education institutions or research institutes on the other.
