An international assessment panel examines the applications before Mistra decides which ones to shortlist for the second stage of the application process.
The applications approved for the second round will undergo a scientific peer review, after which they will be ranked in terms of priority by an international assessment panel.
Decisions on funding of Idea Support projects will be taken by the Board of Mistra in March/April 2008.
Mistra´s Idea Support is seeks to bring about innovative research projects with great potential for improving the environment. An Idea Support project must have strong elements of audacity, originality and creativity. The research must involve discovery, innovation and/or re-examination. It may also explicitly challenge or question established views.
