ECP High Level Seminar - Positive Incentives for Climate Action
On the 17-18th of April, the European Climate Platform (ECP) hosted a seminar on Positive Incentives for Climate Action, in Madrid. The seminar was directed toward policy advisors and negotiators to debate and bring them up-to-date on climate policy research.
Clipore researchers contributed with two background papers to the seminar. Sivan Kartha presented Linking Measurable, Reportable and Verifiable Mitigation Actions by Developing Countries to Measurable, Reportable and Verifiable Financial and Technical Support by Developed Countries, co-authored by Bo Kjellén, and Vivek Kumar presented A Bottom Up Approach for India. The later paper was co-authored by Atul Kumar, Markus Åhman, Asbjørn Torvanger, and Lars Zetterberg, all Clipore researchers. A third paper was presented by Christian Egenhofer from CEPS: Which of the Different Sectoral Approaches Can Be Implemented?

The results from the discussions during the seminar in Madrid will be presented as a side-event on June 10th during the UNFCCC meeting in Bonn.

ECP is a joint initiative between Clipore and CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies) in Brussels. For more information on the ECP event, please visit http://www.ceps.eu/Article.php?article_id=588
