New call opening soon

Mistra will open its new application call, Biodiversity and the Financial System, in the latter half of September.

The background report, Aligning Markets with Biodiversity, was released in June. Its primary message is that there is an urgent need for research that helps break the harmful link between the global economy and the loss of biodiversity.

In September, Mistra will open the Biodiversity and the Financial System call, where a future research programme will be awarded SEK 50 million for an upcoming four-year period.

The purpose of the background report is to provide both inspiration and a foundation for applications. However, the submitted programme proposals will be evaluated on the basis of the call text that is published when the application call opens.

Mistra also hosted a webinar in June, The Missing Link – Biodiversity and our Financial System, at which the report and the link between biodiversity and the financial system were discussed.

“A great deal is happening in this area and it is happening fast, at the same time as this is a very complex issue. We therefore believe that a Mistra programme can contribute a critical eye, as well as offering creative solutions through collaboration between societal actors,” says Åsa Moberg, Programmes Director at Mistra.

A digital information meeting about the call for applications will be held in English on 6 October at 09.00. A registration link will be published when the call has opened.

Stay updated about future application calls and research news with Mistra’s newsletter and via social media – Twitter, Youtube and Linkedin.
